DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online
If you have not played massively multiplayer online game before, the DC Universe Online is a good starting point. This is not just because the DC Comics license, although it may be the first to pull this light and breezy to the genre. After all, this is your chance to take to the sky like Superman's Metropolis, or hide in the shadows of Gotham City as Batman. But how DCUO mixed feelings traditional role gameplay progression, which makes it pleasant hours. If you are an expert role player can be found refreshing, as well - but only to a certain extent. Rapid progression of the level and focus on all combat, all the time would be boring if you're someone who enjoys the thrill of finding new worlds of mystery and discovery. In most instances, repeatable end-game content is fun, but it is not inviting enough to make it worth paying a monthly fee.

But even if it offers enough new content to support beyond a few weeks, DC Universe Online is generally entertaining, and comic book fans will be pleased that the license has been handled with care.

DC It's hard not to compare online comedy inspired game universe that preceded it: City of Heroes City of Villains, and Champions Online. If you've played any of them, you may be disappointed that at least initially, DC Universe Online does not offer the flexibility that these superheroes are so well other cosmetics on the subject of the most famous games. This does not mean that the character creation is not robust, although there may be drowned your imagination a bit. Of course, DC Universe Online is at once the heroes and villains alike share the same world. Once you adapt your design to your liking, you select a weapon (if you want to play with other weapons, do not despair, your options expand later) select a set of power base (gadgets, ice, fire, etc.) and select one of three mentors available, such as Lex Luthor, if you are a villain, or Wonder Woman, if you're a hero.

Fortunately, if you are disappointed in the original creation options, you are stuck in this vision of a hero or a villain forever. Earnings and buy new gear as you play, but give a new look, does not mean that you should change your physical appearance. You can equip the Cape to improve the statistics, without removing wings demonic if they are more in tune with your appearance. Your headquarters (the Hall of Doom is a bad, Justice League of America, the Watchtower of Heroes), you can buy more cosmetics, and when the show really hit you, you can lock your swimsuit - or only the individual parts.

When creating your character, you are being treated with DC Universe Online, a great tutorial that does a great job of explaining why the world is evolving with superpowered people, and shows how different the game is to fight other online games role. This is an action game, online role-playing format. When you press the button, the driver or the mouse, you can swing your knife, shoot with your bow and fire the rifle. There is also a small amount of latency between your actions and those on the screen, but it is not sufficient to reduce the immediacy of the battle. In most MMOGs, you press is not necessarily a direct relationship between the weapon and the enemy. DCUO immediacy makes it fun for almost anyone get-go and a nice change of pace more typical of such items. Superpowers to limit the power bar (RPG vets might think that their mana pool.

Fluid combat animations, sparkling visual effects and fight to keep the general responsiveness DCUO fun for a while, but it loses its luster over time. As you level, you use items in new combinations, not only make you more effective in battle, but also make the game more visually appealing. Nevertheless, the mouse clicks Releases / keys required to exit the grandiose movements are not complex, and some attacks are effective enough to repeat over and over without throwing in too many flavors - especially when these combos reliably cause crippling or other effects. A major drawback of the game is targeting. You can not choose your goal - just press the auto-target and hope for the best. In the beginning of the course, it's not a big deal.

DC Universe Online can not always escape the boring button-mashing involved in his fight, but it does a good job of masking the monotony of a variety of ways. One way is to use power tactics, you earn. These powers are a few types of trees, including one that focuses on so-called "iconic power," inspired by the famous talents in a variety of heroes and villains such as Batman Batarang. You can only equip up to six of these powers at a time, but you can set a couple of different loadouts and switch between them. For example, if you look at the magic of Circe for guidance, you may be able to switch roles between the damage and healing, and have separate powers for each loadout to complete those roles. This situation is reminiscent of similar restrictions Guild Wars, in which individuals and groups can take advantage of tactical opportunities for interesting, different skills.
