Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime |
The story, as it is, centers on four Ghostbusters recruit who got their jobs only because "the senior team 'overwhelmed himself after a recent increase in paranormal activity. A series of cringe worthy comic book style cutscenes offline explain the reasons for the increase (if you have seen both films, so you can probably guess), and longtime fans can enjoy learning as Janosz poha conservative fools still have a crush on world tearing Dana Barrett after 22 years. But far from memorable, take the new recruits so heavily by their employers that they seem carbon copies of the standards. For example, to find his glasses Brainiac Egon clone of the spiritual-minded Gabriel and Ray Stantz wide-eyed wonder has its counterpart in the reveries of Samuel towheaded. The parallels are always painfully obvious, and they inevitably makes you wonder why these guys are in the game instead of the real crew.
The gameplay does not help things much, and the game settles rapidly numbing routine, after a brief glimpse of promise. You bring your own Rookie around with the controller using the left stick, and you need a steady stream of attack, keeping the right one. If PC games, so you can simply drag the mouse in the direction of your enemy. In nod to diversity, you are involved in three different types of weapons to the enemies of a particular color. She has, of course, your trusty blaster proton, which is the best to use the red enemies, but you can also compress the fragmentation of the ghosts flare gun, and yellow-blue attack that gains power if the bullet bounce from wall. And yes, it is possible to overcome the flow.
Most fun of the game has passed between the three arms in battle, but the novelty is the trick fine exhausted by the fourth of the 12 levels of play out of the boss battles and periodic leg defeat in which zap the ghosts of the vehicle roof Ecto-4WD, inevitably involving recruits Sanctum battles walking in an area to have a lock or a door behind them, and then need to defeat all the ghosts that appear in the to open an outlet. This in itself would not be so bad if all the cards are not repeated later in the campaign with the simple addition of the toughest enemies. And if we consider that the three weapons sometimes seem to have no effect on an enemy, even when color is used to go to these meetings may seem unfair recycling difficult.
Convince three friends to play instead of AI, however, and Sanctum is relatively pleasant. In consoles, they can play together locally or online, but playing in the local PC is compatible. Like most enemies can be removed from the battle with only a couple of hits, however, may spend much time rushing to their fallen comrades and touching the buttons to bring into battle. It is not always as easy as it sounds: The PlayStation 3 and PC are sufficiently reactive, but the Xbox can not give you the opportunity for rapid recovery, no matter how you stand.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of online play, Sanctum is the AI is as a major weakness of the game. While AI companions are much faster than real players when it comes to revive their fallen comrades, they have an annoying habit of going around in circles at the worst times and often can not use the right weapon against ghosts of a certain color. If you fall, they rush to your help, even if it means death for them too obvious, and sometimes some clues buggy pacifism prevents them from firing at all. This is particularly troublesome in boss fights while playing in single player. Since most of them require to stay away from the head and reduce its hit points with a steady stream of protons juice, the process can take forever if the AI players are not their weight.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime communicates little of the charm that the franchise is known for. There is no comic voice, but small snippets of pop-up text with forced jokes enough to sign the interaction. There are no puzzles to break the monotony of the fighting, the break away from the collection of dolls Stay Puft Marshmallow Man scattered throughout most levels. The music is appropriate, but a bit repetitive scary, but fortunately, the famous theme song plays while visiting the title screen. Perhaps including real Ghostbusters could fill this gap a little, but overall, the idea of spending too much time with Revolution much more haunting than any ghost that she throws at you.
