Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
The 2008 version of Prince of Persia took the franchise in a new direction and refreshing, with an open world design and artistic style of painting with great success. He brings to life a series that had been stagnant for years, but can not see any of these new elements in the sand. It's a return to the beautiful sands of time, focusing on level design and develop the kind of acrobatic wonder that would make even the most agile monkey jealous. Unfortunately, jumping back in time is not completely smooth. Parties begin to paint by numbers feel, no surprises for those familiar with the franchise, and the combat is shallow and lacks the elegance of a prince so often exhibits. But these errors disappear once the prince is put into a slot. The levels are designed complex full of surprising twists and skillful maneuvers to pass the most difficult sections to fill a room made of rewarding a particularly delicate.

Some problems keeping The Forgotten Sands to reach the limits of his predecessors, but to play in this timeless gravity-defying adventure is still time well spent.

The story focuses on sibling rivalry Forgotten Sands between the prince and his brother. At some point in their lives, have got together to develop, but the relationship usually crumble when demonic possession, to raise their heads. Even if the story is ho-hum clichés, is a certain charm of manner, he said. The prince tells of events operations, and operates its own personality, some carefree fun in the process. Fortunately, this is not the prince appeared austere previous game in the franchise, but a benevolent fellow at The Sands of Time, and his experience with more ease. Unfortunately, the personality of the prince is not the only thing borrowed from the Sands of Time. Opening the level where you are trying to enter the castle is attacked, borrow heavily predecessor, the opening sequence, and looks like a predictable level of planning your future problems.

The elimination of open conception of the world means that the sand is entirely linear, but is one of the highlights of the match. Each step builds on what came before it, constantly mixing new technologies with the capabilities of its core to create something special. As in previous games, the prince begins with the power to walk on walls, jump between the poles and slide down hanging banners. But there is more to make your way from one point to another as this list shows modest. His movements are refined throughout the game, twisting the basics to produce something unique. You can make a habit of running along a wall and jump easily relaxed, but when a door is closing fast forces you to speed things up, you need to address this basic maneuver from a different angle. This reinvention of the exciting themes established remains consistent platform sections.

However, the thing that really pushes these levels to new heights with the opening moves during the game. The first and most used is the ability to freeze water. Waterfalls and nozzle losses can be frozen with a push of a button, to create walls and pillars of ice you can climb quickly. Initially, water-based puzzles provide only an aesthetic twist platform, but when you understand the basics, things become much more interesting. You will have frequent freezing and thawing of water in the air, which allows you to jump between the geysers, which are not synchronized, or break through a wall of water that had been frozen for a moment before. You can unlock new skills as you go through the adventure, and these are all mixed together seamlessly to keep you constantly on edge.

In addition to the impressive acrobatic skills, you must exercise, there are many puzzles as well. These are usually of the variety turn the crank, and even if they do not put a kink in its speed, it is nonetheless satisfying to solve the ancient mysteries. Problem during the shows elements of platform too, and although it's always fun to find out exactly what needs to be done to reach the other side, the camera is sometimes limited the biggest obstacle you face. The view is often zoomed out too far and have full control, making it impossible to tilt the angle to get the best view possible. This is particularly worrying in parts of the game in which the perspective is crucial, it is difficult to tell in which direction a cascade of drainage or wall, you have to jump to intervene on a pole.

Apart from the platform games that are short fight sequences, but it is unfortunately the weakest parts of the game. The prince has never been a very complete fighter, but the struggle has always had style enough to overcome its superficial nature. But in The Sands, fluid camera angles and agile counting system from previous games are not looking, resulting in fights that require a little more than blind button pressing. You unlock new moves through a system of experience, and it's fun to tweak your skills to your fighting style. But instead of battle more depth, additional movements just make it even easier to send your undead enemies. When you lock an attack against the ice early in the game, even the fiercest warriors quickly fall to your blade. In addition to being too easy, fighting also suffer from technical problems.

It is a challenge for the end of the room while you are away from the last boss, but because they focus on combat rather forgettable inspiring platform, have gradually increased the overall experience. But where the combat falters in the Forgotten Sands, platform stands in its place, producing an excellent level design, and breathtaking acrobatics in which he is known for the series. Prince The most surprising new wrinkles skills series jump and run, throwing new ideas to keep you transfixed until the final thrilling episode. Despite the slow start and fight low, this is another fun entry in the long-term franchise. The veterans of the series, once again admire the Prince's unfathomable ability to reach higher, while newcomers will wonder why it took so long to tag along for the ride. Trouble maintaining this interface among the best games franchise, but this is still a good job, that surprises and entertains.

Forgotten Sands does not get rid of his inspiration from a couple of hours, but does not relieve the introduction unforgettable.

And because many of the puzzles require to fit on the progress of the new obstacles with extreme precision, a sense of entitlement to do so in a particularly difficult stretch.

There are only a few times during the game when the camera is a serious problem, but good will bite driven articles of excellent level design.

Prince moved Animation makes it difficult sequence of moves together and inconsistent hit detection makes the task a row killing blow. Fortunately, there is fighting a lot during the adventure, but what there is is just a diversion from the experience fun otherwise.
