Sanctum (2011)

Sanctum (2011)
The genre of tower defense has been growing in recent years, with many games recipe with spices like to highlight unique features. Enter Sanctum, the last match to gain a foothold in an increasingly crowded landscape. This downloadable game, build towers to protect a key structure of the bands of urchins, as it does in most games. But here's the catch: While these monsters lurk in its predetermined path goal with their own weapons, from a first person view. Having to face these monsters Sanctum of the forest makes a more immediate experience of his tower defense game average, not only can look down and meet with the front of terror. It's a shame there are not more ways to enjoy Sanctum: It only has three different levels, but with 20 or more in each of the waves, which are those of long duration.

Although you may wish that the concept had more content built around it, which is cool enough here to Sanctum's a fun way to spend hours - even if you are burned on gender.

In many ways, Sanctum is like most other tower defense games. Generate monsters out of predetermined points and meander (or floating, or let off steam) on predetermined routes. Its aim is to destroy them by placing towers along this road at strategic points. It is also necessary to extend these clumsy buffoons travel "the best we can to block construction of the tower to create mazes for them to cross. So you're probably used to place towers on a higher Sanctum, you have a hearing at first person. This can be confusing at first, especially in the planning of the maze. Fortunately, you can switch to an aerial view to see how the labyrinth came along, but really can not build something like this.

Maze leadership is only half the equation, however. Once you've used all your resources, press a key, and the invasion begins. Obese creatures on slender legs, giant bobble head lanky and other oddities in your maze. In other tower defense games, you hope and pray that your configuration is smart enough to turn destroy, Sanctum is the hope and prayer, not a substitute for a weapon in your hands warm. As such, you can use one of three weapons - a rifle, a sniper rifle and a pistol that slows enemies down - your turn to give a helping hand. The shooting itself is not very satisfactory. The monsters are unaware of your presence, and despite the blood and goo that burst in a fatal headshot, there is little influence. However, when mutant, the parade is in full swing, you'll be too busy sniping floating spores to give it much thought.

To make the most important strategic choices in the waves. Do not spend resources to improve the existing towers or build new ones? Want to upgrade your weapons, or the meat from the labyrinth of your most? You should be aware of what the enemies of the next down the pike, when considering these issues. Bobble heads are sensitive to their weapons, so the rifle can be upgraded on the road. But taking care of bobble heads, leaving the Walkers could mean that you have in your tower, so you need to find the right balance when you spend the dough. The single-player game features a nice difficulty curve, which allows you to get the bearings and the early introduction of what you have learned during the test, you will be the final level. When you leave behind the campaign, you can join your friends or guests to face the endless waves together.

Do not be so bad if Sanctum came with more than three levels include, each of which is divided into the waves 20, 25 or 30. I did not expect to play again here as multiple difficulty levels, and strategic flexibility means you can have fun to play levels to try new approaches. However, the three levels is a low number compared to other games like, and $ 14.99, you can expect a greater variety. (Consider, for example, content-rich games such as toy soldiers and Comet Crash, who gave their own innovations.) At least these levels are very pretty. Sanctuary was created with the Unreal Engine 3 to 1 that you'll probably notice at first, based on revealing the texture melted in the arms and elsewhere. However, the environments are undeniably attractive. Monsters emerge from lush green forests where the birds are flying in the sky.

Sanctum is not brimming with features, but it is different enough to draw your attention, and it's pretty fun to keep it. Online leaderboards and achievements of steam to provide further incentive for you to keep playing even if they are not substitutes for the variety of different levels and ways would have offered. But what is here is enjoyable to watch, entertaining and often difficult. And when you're in trouble as boxes clogging your passenger, or snipe which maintains the threat hovering just before it reaches its destination, you will enjoy this Sanctum brings to the genre.

Develop a strategy while working on two resource pools are fun, even if the challenge is accelerating much faster here than in single player, so you can get frustrated with how little damage, even if the weapons do the full update. Unfortunately, there are other places to conquer.

Giant Tower bright flowers on it, beside the green light glowing orbs in the flow of fluids - the natural answer to the lava lamp. This is a typical "sci-fi jungle" look, but it is very suggestive to allude to the possibility of a world beyond his limited playing time. Evocative, too, the music room of the menu, which has no comparison with more typical electronic rhythms heard during the game.
